Happy New Year, readers!
Quite a bit has already happened since the start of 2019. For one, a publication! What better way to ring in the new year than a story from yours truly?
“Do You Hear the Coffin Bell?” was published in the January 2019 issue of The Blotter Magazine, “The South’s free, unique, international arts and literature magazine.” Please find my story here by opening up the January 2019 issue at the bottom of your screen. A PDF will open: http://blotterrag.com/
Another story of mine about Anne Boleyn before her marriage to King Henry VIII, called “I’d Rather Lose My Head,” received a nice mention in the Magic of History blog. If you’re interested in finding other ways to read good historical fiction, including my own story, this blog post is for you!
Bold + Italic, the magazine for which I act as the fiction editor, is ramping up for its next issue! Readers, please stay tuned for more wonderful stories from writers around the world in our upcoming issue. Writers, please submit! We’re always looking for short stories, poetry, nonfiction, and art. Check out our submission guidelines for more info!
Lastly, I’m working on a few other projects, and an idea for a novel has entered my head. I’m not sure where the idea for the novel will lead, or if it will maintain my interest, but I’m starting to see shadows of characters for a dark historical romance. Stay tuned for more short stories, more blog posts, and more Kat Devitt in the coming year!
